Black Germans, migrants, asylum-seekers, all those whose
individual biographies refer back to, e.g., Africa, Asia,
Turkey, or the Pacific, people who experience racism in Germany,
take part in this training.
In our society they suffer from racism in its various shapes,
forms, and degrees of intensity.
Still, the reason why they are discriminated against is the
same for all of them: the colour of their skin. The number
of these men and women in our society is rising. Equally,
the threat of racist assaults increases. But even the racism
encountered in everyday life has an enormous impact on people
living in this country.
Our Black Consciousness Training is an opportunity to get
to know each other - on a personal level as well as on the
level of cultural and political backgrounds.
We come from different backgrounds with different experiences.
But yet, we are all united by our common experience of racism
in Germany today.
In the face of this day-to-day reality, how can we pursue
our personal aims, how can we be a useful part of this society,
and what can we do to reduce racism?
These are the questions that we focus on in our Black Consciousness
Training sessions. As in the Racism Awareness Training we
also use different media. After the training everyone has
the possibility of continuing on their own or of joining the
phoenix
community.
We also offer Follow
Up Trainings.
